AdvancedMiner Client is a graphical user interface designed especially for data modeling. It provides uniform access to a variety of tools which support the data analysis provess. A detailed description of the components of AdvancedMiner Client is in this documentation.

Modeling tasks can be programmed using the Gython scripting language or using the Graphical Metadata Explorer. Both offer alternative ways of interacting with the platform and can operate on the same objects. The user can use the mechanism that is more appropriate for the performed operation: the graphical Metadata Explorer or scripting language.

The Metadata Explorer's capabilities include:

constructing new metadata objects with the help of a wizard,
copying and transfering objects (including the possibility of transferring to the user's local disk for backup purposes),
viewing and editing object properties,
performing actions on object, e.g. starting a calculation, displaying detailed information or visualization of the object.

An alternative way of working with AdvancedMiner is to use the Gython scripting language. This language is based on the Python language. It has been extended by adding data transformation tools.

The capabilities of the AdvancedMiner scripting language include:

modifying the metadata,
synchronizing the performed tasks,
transforming the data (using multiple resources from various databases or files),
using SQL for data access and transformations,
creating 2D/3D charts using a uniform programming interface,
using object oriented programming features such as defining classes with methods, objects, class hierarchies, polymorphism, exceptions, threads etc.,
using special libraries for mathematical and statistical calculations.
